The event was also honored with the participation of Crown Heights Rabbonim Rabbi Schwei and Rabbi Braun.

Talmidim of the yeshiva were awarded certificates for various achievements. A highlight of the evening was a grand siyum by 20 talmidim of the yeshiva who completed the entire masechtes gittin by heart. Additionally, 6 bochurim from shiur aleph were mesayim masechtes sukka!

Two bochrim wowed the audience as they spoke about their learning and then recited the kaddish for each siyum. The resounding “Amen!” was followed by rousing, well-deserved applause that continued for a long few minutes.

Rabbi Schwei spoke about the importance of chazering to retain what one learns. Rabbi Braun spoke about the significance of the day, chof-ches sivan, the day that the Rebbe came to America and its connection to learning Torah.

One of the supporters spoke about how proud he is to be supporting this special learning and encouraged the boys to keep going.

Rabbi Scharf, the Yeshiva’s dedicated menahel, spoke about the boys’ accomplishments and personally called up every bochur to receive their certificate of achievement. As the graduating class was called up to the stage, the boys broke out in a spontaneous dance, “teyereh bridder, teyereh bridder, mir velen zich veiter zehn…” The graduating bochrim will be continuing their learning in Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim of the Poconos.

How did it come to be that 26 bochrim accomplished so much in learning?
Throughout the year, the entire yeshiva, which includes 70 bochrim, was involved in Mivtza Torah, an extra curricular program that encourages bochrim to learn in their free time. The program is directed by the Talmidim HaShluchim, who personally supported the boys’ work in the most special ways – at times learning with them one-on-one, at times farbrenging with them, at times going out for slurpees together, and of course, always being there as role models and friends.

The goal of Mivtza Torah was for the bochrim to complete the pages in the masechta that are not covered during the sedarim, thus finishing the entire masechta. At several points throughout the year, the bochrim took tests on this learning and were treated to fun activities.

This past Sunday, over twenty bochrim took a written final test of 100 questions. The bochurim proved their abilities by getting test scores over 90%!

The bochrim were also tested on the entire masechta by harav hagaon haRav Gavriel Zinner, the mechaber of the acclaimed Nittei Gavriel, who was very impressed with the bekius that the bochurim showed. After farhering the boys, Rabbi Zinner shared words of chizuk with them, stressing how much of the masechta is focused around the dinim regarding a shliach, Rav Zinner emphasized that this is what the Rebbe taught us – to be his shluchim in spreading yidishkeit to all.

Though the year of learning has come to an end, Torah learning never ends. The sweet taste of a fun, meaningful and successful year of growing will last forever.

Pictures of the test and event

gala banquet honoring the bochurim

https://www.yeshivalubavitch.com/news/gala-banquet-honoring-the-bochurim

https://www.yeshivalubavitch.com/news/gala-banquet-honoring-the-bochurim#comments

Uncategorized

This past Sunday, over 65 bochurim of the Yeshivah, attended a grand banquet and Chinese auction, honoring them for their efforts in the Mivtza during the month leading up to Yud Alef Nissan and throughout Bein Hazmanim. As they came in, they viewed the prizes and purchased their tickets, after which they sat down for a Seudah. The Menahel of Yeshiva, Rabbi Mendel Scharf, addressed the Bochurim and praised them for their hard work during Bein Hazmanim, saying how many parents thanked the Yeshiva for the Mivtza after seeing how their sons spent their time during Bein Hazmanim.

Moshe Aharon Goldstein, a Bochur in Yeshiva, then thanked the Shluchim for arranging the Mivtza and for all their hard work they put into the Bochurim throughout the year.

After which, excitement filled the room as Rabbi Yisroel Lipsker, Mashpia in Yeshiva, was asked to draw the first raffle.
